Altar’d offers significant faith building evidence from Genesis to Revelation, revealing God had a master plan to restore His people to Himself through sacrifice. The blood of a lamb was required on the very first Passover many years ago to save people from the final plague in Egypt. Later, the Lamb was offered to grant people forgiveness in the desert. It was prophesied that one day a Savior would come to be the Lamb who would take away our sin (Isaiah 53) and usher in a New Covenant (Jeremiah 31). When Jesus started His ministry, He was declared to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Jesus, at the last supper, the night of his death, said to His disciples that He was sharing at that supper the blood of the covenant. He then died on the most special Jewish holiday in the whole year. The day was Passover, the very same day in the year many years earlier the blood of the lamb over their doors saved God’s people in Egypt.
Jesus could have died on any day, but God had Jesus sacrificed on the one special day in 365 days, to indicate that Jesus is God’s ultimate lamb. It is shown that on this one special day in history, dramatic events take place in the sacrifice of Jesus through the people who kill Him, the leaders who question Him, the people who die with Him and bury him, and even in the sun and moon, all fulfilling amazing Old Testament prophecies regarding Jesus. Once a person comes into full understanding as to why this information can be trusted, it fans their faith into flame. Ultimately, the Bible indicates that our response to Jesus’ awesome sacrifice is to offer our lives a living sacrifice to serve God’s Kingdom. This is what it means to be Altar’d. Jesus offered His life on the Altar of the cross and His awesome sacrifice compels those who believe to alter their lives by offering themselves alive on His Altar.

Verry special! I met him at campus way, a program I go to that he organized. He told me about this book.
This is a very special book. As someone who has a strong faith but is still learning her way around the Bible, I found Jay's explanation of Old Testament events and teachings to be very comprehensive. Dots were connected and there were more than a few "Ahah" moments. This book is very personal and sincere and makes you feel safe in your own personal faith journey. No matter where you are in your faith walk from skeptic to mature believer, you will find this book more than worthwhile. I highly recommend it!
I recently finished reading Jay Cavaiani's book Altar'd. While he wrote the book to explain his faith in Jesus Christ for his buddies--it is an excellent read for anyone who wants to explore the Christian faith and/or eliminate doubts. He recounts his own faith journey in a very personal and readable way. The explanation of many Biblical accounts is clear , intellectual, and interesting! I would recommend this book for both Christian believers and faith seekers.
This book’s exciting and refreshing! I’m not a reader, yet this book has been one of only a few in my life that I couldn’t put down. While I recommend it to all those I know, I explain that it is a very powerful encouragement to the believer while also being an excellent resource to those who still have questions about the big picture. I tell them “Enjoy it for yourself, then be ready to watch for someone to pass it along to”. It’s true power is in being shared! So many people know pieces of God's plan because of how we get introduced to Him. For many, it can take a long time to grasp His depth. In just over a couple hundred fast pages, the author expresses how consistent and reliable God has been from the beginning of time through today. Jay Cavaiani does something very unique- not only does he present God’s plan in an easy to understand manner, he entertains us with some astounding uncommonly told facts of history, science, and the supernatural.
